Welcome to the site of Abbie Silber, musician, singer-songwriter, educator, and professional cantorial soloist and songleader. For arriving in Jerusalem only a year ago, Abbie Silber has made a positive impact on the community.
With a Masters of Education and five years of teaching experience, Abbie Silber is far from the ordinary musician. After graduating from Indiana University in 2004, she moved to St. Louis, MO and joined the United Hebrew Congregation as an educator. At United Hebrew, she served as the Music Director for three years and created and taught a computer curriculum for its Hebrew School with the purpose of teaching Hebrew in a creative and exciting way.
Although her love for St. Louis was strong, she decided to pursue an extensive Jewish learning path. Therefore, she moved to Israel August 2009. Abbie is currently studying at Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem and plans to move back to USA summer 2011.
Mentored by the fantastic Rick Recht and coached by her incredible voice teacher, Sheila Dugan, Abbie Silber breathes life and passion into all that she does. You can hear her love for Jewish music in every service and song session she leads. Abbie's wide range of abilities makes her a great addition to a service or program.
Please contact Abbie if you are traveling to Israel and would like her to augment your Israel service or program!
